Understanding the human past is essential for understanding the present and shaping the future. Learning about cultures past and present is essential for living in a pluralistic society and world. Archaeology is a way to learn about past cultures. Stewardship of archaeological resources is everyone’s responsibility
Reservations are required. Please have several dates available when calling to schedule a field trip.
This request is for both Center and off-site field trips.
Project Archaeology is a 2 1/2 hour program when conducted at the Center. However, delivery times can be changed according to individual school or class needs. Off-site scheduling is based on specific needs of each host organization.
PROGRAM FEES Center field trips-$4 per child* Off-site field trips- $25 per hour+
*There is a 15 student minimum charge for Project Archaeology Programs
held at the San Diego Archaeological Center: however, smaller groups are welcome.
There is no fee for adult chaperones. However, with limited classroom space,
no more than one adult for five students, please.
+ Off-site field trips are charged a flat rate, 30 student maximum, per session.
3 hour minimum. A $25 travel fee is requested for off-site presentations located outside of North County. All Fees subject to change.
