Project Archaeology Assistants

Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Project Archaeology Assistant will assist the Center Education Department in the promotion and delivery of Project Archaeology.

General Responsibilities

    • Assist education department in developing, planning and implementing Project Archaeology
    • Handle questions students might have during instructional period and subsequent lab analysis lessons.
    • Instruct students on experimental archaeology lessons.
    • Responsible to be knowledgeable of Center safety and emergency plan procedures.

Qualifications

    • Must enjoy interacting with children, educators and chaperones
    • Ability to communicate professionally and appropriately with students and adults.
    • Ability to handle multiple functions.
    • Ability to perform administrative operations as needed for position.
    • Experience using office machines and computer a plus.
    • Knowledge of San Diego history and archaeology and Center educational programs preferred.
    • Reliability, enthusiastic personality, honesty, friendliness and punctuality are of utmost importance.
