Today’s trash may be tomorrow’s archaeology. When a stone tool became dull it was sharpened, a jelly jar was reused the next season, a bucket could be repaired. These days we produce a lot more trash than they did hundreds of thousands of years ago and reuse less of it. The artifacts that compose the mosaic below were curated at the San Diego Archaeological Center.
The Center is joining the effort to decrease our waste footprint by switching over to e-newsletters and electronic notification of events. To sign up for Center emails, please contact Cherryl Castro at ccastro@sandiegoarchaeology.org to sign up.
